I have been thinking recently about refining the writing I am posting here, trying to let my thoughts ruminate until I can express them beautifully. However, if I stay this course, I feel like I'm just going to stop posting here all together. It's a semi-anonymous blog on the internet that no one reads––why not make the process part of the practice?
Ultimately, I believe that an idea cannot be beautiful in itself if it cannot be expressed beautifully. Thinking can be beautiful too, and perhaps sometimes I do think beautifully, but I'm definitely not at the point where I can easily express my thoughts beautifully. To write beautifully is to write with a voice, but a voice can only develop when you know what you want to say.
This is the inaugural post of our email newsletter. I'm going to be posting about what I'm trying to figure out and how I'm thinking about it right now, and we'll figure out how best to say it later. In the process I'm sure I will stop making sense and make mistakes, you just need to point them out for me.
